Photoshoot in Soho, London

I like these images of the old and beaten up buildings against the signs for the sex shops. It shows the beautiful old buildings, that were around before the sex industry, and the relatively new and tacky sex culture.

I really like the images of the phoneboxes as a series of images. I wanted photograph the tart cards in these phoneboxes dotted around soho. I wanted to show that, although it has declined greatly in the last 20 or so years, the sex industry is still very much around, even if it is more underground. If you look around phoneboxes in other parts of London you will hardly ever find these cards. I like the composition of them you can still see parts of the surrounding area in the background, behind the phonebox. They are also quite linear and I like the way the picture has been cut up into parts vertically, it feels symmetrical.
